Packaged in a nice jet-black digipak this album was the last that Elgibbor would release under the Sullen Records banner. Once again, Elgibbor brings us a thorough presentation of dark, atmospheric-driven black metal. For those who appreciated Eliggbor's old school black metal they will love the bettered production, varied musical structure, and doomy aura that Fire expands upon in this album. Whispery screams, coarse grunts, and haunting soundscapes fly over raw guitar riffs. The lyrics are focused on exalting the Ancient Spirit and casting down the strongholds between paradise and a hellacious eternity. Comparable in raw sound and style to very old Antestor, and the likes of Burzum, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Wrathful Plague, Fire Throne, Horde, and olden resemblances of Immortal, Elgibbor will fit right in with any metal-head collection of dark, harsh metal. Overall, those who appreciate underground metal acts will be thoroughly pleased with this release and will do its part in leading fans to check out more of Fire's work on Fire Throne "Day of Darkness and Blackness" and on all of the nicely done Eliggbor releases.
